If you remember, about a year ago I posted my review of the Incredibum Bamboo cloth diaper. I am so thrilled to now update that review based on how it’s worked on my guy now that he is older (remember it is the only all in one style diaper that has held up at night!). In this review, I’ll walk you through the features of this diaper and show you how I would fill out a Padded Tush Stats Survey based on how it worked on my two little ones.
This diaper is a one size diaper, which means it is meant to fit your baby from birth to potty training. You adjust the size using the snap down rise in the front. Snap it all the way down for the smallest fit, have it snapped on a middle row for a medium fit, or have it totally unsnapped for the largest setting.
I used this on the largest setting for both of my kids. I did find that the low was pretty low, but since my kids are smaller, it wasn’t an issue.
All in Two
The diaper comes with two inserts (one that is large, and one smaller). The insert snaps into the diaper. There is also a smaller insert that snaps onto the larger insert (or it could be snapped into the diaper on its own for a smaller baby). If your child is a light peer, you can snap the insert out of the diaper and then snap a clean insert back into the diaper.
The diaper is labeled as an “All in two,” but I normally define AI2 as those where you can re-use the insert over and over again. Unfortunately, I found that because the inside of the cover is not wipeable, I couldn’t get multiple uses out of it. So I would identify this as a “snap in one” and think it is great as that. I found that I almost always used the diaper with both inserts snapped in so that it would be reliable for absorbency.
Absorbency
The inserts are made of a blend of bamboo (67%), cotton (23%), and polyester (10%).
I found that using this inserts together made this diaper great for absorbency.
Waterproof
The diaper is waterproof, so you don’t need any cover on top of it. It is made out of a TPU (a kind of polyester) exterior. It comes in a variety of solid colors.
I’m a fan of the colors, especially the black, but I know some people like some print options.
Closures
The diaper closes using snap closures. There are crossover snaps to allow you to get a good fit on a baby’s small waist.
I am a fan of hook and loop closures, but I know from survey responses that most of you prefer snap closures. But I do wish hook and loop were an option with this. One issue I did have was that the tabs would tend to poke out.
Survey Response
Here is how I would fill out a Padded Tush Stats All in Two Survey based on how it worked on my two kids. My 2-year old son is of normal build and weighs 27 pounds. My 3 1/2 year old daughter is skinny and weighs 29 pounds (she uses diapers for naps and nights). Both are normal wetters.
Night Use
I got the diaper to hold up pretty well at night, it just wet around the legs. I found that I couldn’t add any inserts because there wasn’t enough give in the leg elastic to allow for that. So I probably would recommend night use for lighter wetters or smaller babies. The diaper definitely works best in the day. But still, I think a “4″ rating for an All in Two (or by my definition, a “Snap in One”) is a GREAT rating.
Trimness
Because I found that I always had to use the diaper with both inserts, it wasn’t the trimmest, but it wasn’t bulky either.
