For more information on how I try to ensure both fairness to diaper manufacturers and fairness in my reviews, please click here.

You’ve heard me rant about my quest for the perfect All in Two diaper, and I love telling you how diapers are close to it. The Oeko Popo not only has the features of an All in Two, but it also gives you the option of a pocket as well (and a self-agitating pocket at that!). In this review, I am going to walk you through the features of the diaper and taik about how the diaper performed on my little ones.

Diaper Features

* The diaper comes in two sizes:  Size 1 (5-18lbs) and Size 2 (aka One Size) (8-40lbs). She size one has a snap that you can put down for the umbilical cord stump.

* You can adjust the sizing using the snap down rise in the front

* The diaper comes with a pocket sleeve that snaps into the diaper cover (it snaps in on both sides, so you don’t get shifting). It has elastic toggles on it to allow you to adjust the sizing. There are openings on each side of the sleeve, so you don’t have to unstuff the diaper before putting it into the wash, it will come out on its own. The pocket is stay dry on top, and has PUL on the bottom.

* You can have Oeko Popo embroider a design of your choice on the diaper for a few extra bucks, to make it completely unique to you.

* There are two styles of the diaper: The Versatility and the Trim Cut (TCS). The versatility is wider, to allow you to put it over things like fitteds. The Trim Cut has more contoured gussets that can help trap in leaks if you are just putting an insert in there (i.e. using it for an all in two).

* The diaper has double row snap closures

* The diaper has hip snaps to prevent wing droop

* There are also inserts available that allow you to use the diaper as a snap in all in two. They are backed with a PUL to help reduce the amount of pee getting on the cover. The inside is made of microfiber and the top is stay dry suedecloth.

* There are flaps in the front and the back to also hold the insert in place (a great option if you want to lay a prefold in)

Review

I tested this on my 2 1/2 year old daughter who is skinny and on my son, who is almost 1 year old and is a little on the chunky side. Both kids fall somewhere between normal and heavywetters.

Absorbency: 3 (for some reason the insert wasn’t absorbent), 4 (if I used a different insert in the pocket sleeve, like a Flip Organic)

Fit: 5

Trimness: 4

Worth the Price: 5

Nap:4 (as is), 5 (with additional insert)

Night: 2 (as is), 3 (with additional insert–I tried the Superdo…the pockets just too narrow for the sized inserts I need for them at night)

Would Recommend to Friend: 4

Pros: versatility, insert self agitates, wipeable inside, all in two option

Cons: cover fabric is a little too thing and therefore wiggles around a lot, insert not absorbent enough, pocket is a little too narrow

Troubleshooting Tips From the Company

The microfiber insert is more for light to average wetters. They also have bamboo and hemp/sherpa “Easyfolds” which are like prefolds with a velcro belt. These are much more absorbent and they recommend these to customers with heavy wetters to use with the covers.

Pricing

Cover $10.95

Pocket Sleeve: $4.95

Insert:$4.95

Where to buy them: You can type in “Oeko Popo” at the Cloth Diaper Retailer Database and see who carries them, compare shipping, location, and more. Often times retailers give Padded Tush Stats fans exclusive discounts, and you can find them there. If you click on the store link from that site and purchase from the store, a small percentage goes to Padded Tush Stats, so thank you in advance.

Are you a Oeko Popo Owner? If so, then head on over here to fill out a survey on how you felt about this diaper. You can also fill out surveys for any diaper that you have tried. The more surveys you fill out, the more reviews we get to see. Also, survey responses give you extra entries in giveaways here at Padded Tush Stats

Confused by the lingo? Cloth Diapering has a lot of odd terminology. I help define different words here.

Oeko Popo provided the diapers for review, but that had no impact on the opinions reflected in this post.
